For each assignment, use Notepad to code your html pages and MS Internet Explorer 4.0 to view your pages. Save the file to your floppy. When you are done, upload your pages to your free ISP site (http://mtimay.freehomepage.com/xxx). Strive for esthetic appeal and purposeful content. Use your own examples; not those in the textbook (HTML for the World Wide Web, Elizabeth Castro, 2000).
Assignment 1 - Fundamental Tags (pages 21-56)
Create a page that includes all of the Main Tags listed above. Add any 3 of the following links, by including any 3 of the following lines of code:
Assignment 2 - Images and Multimedia (pages 57-114, 217-238) Create a page that includes all of the tags listed above, following the instructions below. Return to Assignment 1. Visit a search engine and search for ‘clipart’. Download 5 different gifs. Display each gif with a different combination of the above optional tags. Also, add a descriptive paragraph to each gif explaining which of the options you employed. See the Sample
Assignment 3 - Links and Anchors (pages 117-129) Create a page that includes all of the tags listed above. Your page should open two of your previous assignments. The page from this assignment should also jump to the middle of each of the 2 pages from the top, and to the top of each from the bottom. See the Sample
Assignment 4 - Image Maps (pages 130-133) Create a page that includes all of the tags listed above. Use the image I have placed in your 'images' folder. Link each quadrant to a different assignment and back. See the Sample
Assignment 5 - Lists Tags (pages 135-41)
Create a page that includes all of the tags listed above, following the instructions below.
Assignment 6 - Tables (pages 143-166) Create a page that includes all of the attributes of the table tag as listed above. You will need 2 tables. See the Sample
Assignment 7 - Frames (pages 167-185) Create a page that includes all of the tags listed above. The page should have a frame across the top (for a company name or slogan), a narrow navigational/links frame on the left side (150 pixels), and a wide frame on the right for the content. On the left frame, link to your original assignments.
Assignment 8 - Forms (pages 187-216) Create a page that includes all of the tags listed above. Your form should serve as a Feedback Form for your project or other business. Use the mailto: attribute. See the Sample
Assignment 9 - Search Engines (pages 339-348)
Assignment 10 - Final Project (2 labs) Create a web site suitable for commercial benefit, promotion of a social issue, or other professional purpose. You will need to employ Text, Lists, Images, Links, a Table, and a Form. Frames and Image Maps are optional.
